Pearl and Garnet Cross Necklace
This necklace is based off the 1816 Portrait of Mary Fisher by John Constable shown in the first image. This style of a jeweled cross hanging from pearl strands is also common in the 18th Century, so it makes for a flexible piece of historical jewelry.
It's available in 2 styles. The first (shown here) is an 18th Century version that is 13" long and features two rings on the end. It is clasped by tying a ribbon which allows for flexible sizing and for you to coordinate the ribbon with your outfit. The second version is a longer 16" (with a 2" extender chain) that clasps with a standard lobster clasp. The style with the clasp is more appropriate for 19th century wear.
The necklace is made from two strands of real freshwater pearls and the cross is made with beautiful foiled glass Garnets. They have a wonderful deep red color and thanks to the foil on the back they are bright and flashy! The cross measures just about 2" long and is a nickel-free Gold-plated brass
